Animal train mural for a Mesa pediatric clinic
This brightly colored animal train mural adds interest and fun to the reception area of this pediatric clinic. The 16' x 4' train and 6' x 4' engine were painted onto cut-out mdf in different layers to make them 3 dimensional. An eighth scale sketch was approved. Full sized drawings were produced and traced onto the mdf. Shapes were cut out using a jigsaw and sanded smooth. Each piece was painted using latex paints before being glued and screwed together. The engine and each truck with the animals was built as a separate unit and screwed to the wall so that the wheels rested on the chair rail for addirional support.
